Don't care about plot summary

When I first saw the trailer and read the plot summary, I thought that it is yet another hero-cop movie with lots of gun fights. However, after I watched it, I realized that I was completely wrong. The movie starts with a scene which our hero beats four men at the same time but after a few minutes you understand that all the absurd and non real scenes including the fight scene are shot on purpose. I think it is kind of a black comedy and you don't have to know Turkish culture to understand most of the jokes. I don't really want to reveal other parts of the movie it may be some kind of a spoiler and I think director himself also really concerns about spoilers because from the trailer you expect to see something else. If you have a chance to watch this movie, don't miss it and watch.

Review :

Nice and "smooth" movie

In my opinion this is nice and "smooth" movie for everyone - with superb polish actors (Jan Frycz, Maciej Sthur, Karolina Gruszka, Marcin Dorocinski, Robert Wieckiewicz, Bronislaw Wroclawski, Krzysztof Kiersznowski and others), nice plot, and fantastic music (from polish hip hop star - Tede, and popular international pop bands like M People or Collective Soul).

It's a something new in polish comedy cinema and it's definitely worth watching.

Four guys, one girl, old Mercedes Benz and trip to Paris = a lot of fun :). My rating for this movie is 9/10. I like it!

Great Indie romantic comedy!

Although a bit cliché, (what romantic comedy is not) this little indie has some classic jokes and strong characters. I really enjoyed the sardonic humor of the main character - Avi.

I wish more films portrayed every day people like this more often, instead of shiny happy people who look like they came out of some fashion magazine.

I think we will be seeing more of both the lead (Modi Rosenfeld) and the director (Michael Rainin) in years to come.

Also, if you have the DVD, watch the bonus tracks, they are very, very funny.

This film also gave a pretty realistic look on the stand up comedy scene in LA and New York City and I checked and most of the actors are stand up comedians in real life.

Review :

A fun film which everyone can enjoy

I watched this film last night and left the cinema satisfied that the film had an interesting outcome and i'm sure put a smile on all the viewers faces. It has elements of comedy, drama and takes a close look at relationships between friends and how sometimes when faced with the worst, it brings out the best in us. The movie is full of very amusing moments throughout and for Torrente fans take a close look at Santiago Segura in a very interesting role (for me he had a good blend of humour but with enough vulnerability to make you really feel for him). The soundtrack to the movie is pretty cool too and i'm sure that it will be a springboard for those arcade dancing machines to really catch on. I won't go into any details of the movie but it is a classic tale of how the underdog can sometimes rise to the challenge, a feel-good film that is well worth a look.
