A few shocking images are all that you'll remember from this disjointed home movie

This disjointed tale of the strange (sex) lives of strange people is amusing, nay hysterically funny for about ten or fifteen minutes as the oddness and non sequitur nature of the story telling and cheapness of the film bombard the viewer in an almost overwhelming barrage of weirdness. Then the film begins to drone on as we settle into naked old people, the violation of stuffed bears, and cross cut sequences that don't really add up to much. Whats the point of all of this? Your guess is as good as mine. I'm some how of the opinion that the point of the film is simply to push buttons for good or ill, and push buttons it does. I have yet to meet anyone one who's actually made it all the way through the film, most abandon it somewhere along the way as simply too much to take. Film as endurance test? perhaps. I for one suspect thats probably the case with out humble director trying more to put one over on his audience rather than enlighten them. I of course could be wrong, but with out some sort of guide to the true "meaning" we're left to deal with the shock visuals which is all anyone will probably talk about anyway. For those who want want disturbing images and don't mind them wrapped in a boring confection.

Far from the serious big productions and the intellectual positions, you will find Dante Desarthe, French director and proud to be unknown. Very close to Dante Desarthe, you will find his clownish double, Daniel Danite. Director still more unknown, pedant and obsessed, he's totally ignorant of the art of framing and managing a team. In comparison, Ed Wood is a genius. Daniel Danite declares himself as a "Don Quichote of the amateurs", a "James Bond of the auto fiction". It's actually more an endearing looser, a distorting mirror revealing what would be the fashionable directors if they weren't supported by the producers and if money wasn't counterbalancing their absence of imagination. Je me fais rare is a requiem for a French cinema incompetent and pedant. But does Dante Desarthe really believe what Daniel Danite says? The character seems so impossibly vain that detachment is automatic. The cinema isn't dead: this film is a measure of prevention against the death of cinema. Comical, absurd, Je me fais rare raises the flag of the wannabes and of the voluntary imperfections. Dante Desarthe would deserve a statue…seated in the middle of a street and absorbed in the contemplation of a whirligig.

Even better than first one!

This movie follows Bore Lees previous masterpiece - U kandzama velegrada, only - EVERYTHING IS MUCH BETTER HERE! When I say "everything", i think of fight scenes, special effects, villains, scenery, camera work, director craftsmanship etc... Sometimes I work as a movie critic for several Croatian newspapers so I've got opportunity to see many movies but this one takes the cake! It is rather unbelievable that this film is so cheap because it doesn't look like that: car chases (exploding cars), so many extras, vivid costumes and many star cameo people in this movie. If you like early work from Sam Raimi or even Peter Jackson (that means - if you are true trash fan!) I recommend this one from the bottom of my heart. Also, check out the soundtrack for this movie because it has music from some of the hottest rap stars from Balkan - Edo Maajka, The Beat Fleet, Postolar Triper and many others. The only things it needs to be perfect is - more nude chicks! :)

Don't waste your half a buck

Charles Band is a pretty woeful filmmaker, but at the same time I also sorta admire the guy. Well, maybe admiration is sort of a big word, but his brand of one-dimensional gimmick cinema is a pretty fun throwback to 70s exploitation movies. Band is basically H.G. Lewis with less blood and more inept puppetry. Actually watching one of his movies all the way through seems like a bridge too far though. "Evil Bong" might have an evil bong, but it has absolutely nothing else going for it. Most scenes go absolutely nowhere and do so at an excruciatingly slow pace, while you sit there awkwardly waiting for "so bad it's good"-moments. Eventually those moments do come when Tommy Chong finally shows up, but by then it's too little and too late. Besides, Chong seems to be completely improvising his lines anyway, no way the writer could come up with dialogues this funny. Apart from being boring, the movie also looks about as ugly as a movie can look. It looks like it was shot with a cell phone, I know it's low-budget but this is just ridiculous. Feel free to laugh your ass off at the box, but please leave this one on the shelf.

Yeahhh.. Seduce!

I rented this fine film purely for its eye-catchingly sophisticated title, and was not to be disappointed. Perhaps it was my low-as-they-go expectations that in part made this such a good time for me, or perhaps my own status as being a horny college dropout who lived in Connecticut for a while, but this was good times. For an independently-produced, gross-out post-college sex-comedy, this fills the ticket with a memorable charm all its own. Russ' motley band of friends' personas play nicely off each other. All equally hilarious in their own way. "Bitch" and his henchman make a perfect and completely ridiculous villain. The acting is definitely above average, I'd even call it good. I was not surprised to see that a bunch of the actors here have been getting more work after this one. Another thing that cracked me up was how many times references to poop or farting occurred, almost as if the makers were trying to fulfill some sort of Poop quota for the title. PS,. Moron's piece at the end is perhaps in my opinion one of the greatest bits in cinema history.

Good ... Refreshing Movie

To say truth, I watch this movie whenever i want to make myself feel good.... because we can forget about everything while watching this movie... just watch it

I like this movie because 1. small-small innocent fighting, Mis-understanding between lead pair... 2. Almost full movie is captured in natural light... to get the feel of real incidents.... 3. Dialog - utilized with almost care... since each character has to express their intentions within given short period of time except lead pair 4. Characterization - Lot of small (important) characters which is actually acted as nerve to the storyline(Even though Simple love and Romantic story) 5. Music - Yuvan's Music is excellent .. i love all three songs in second half.

Just Watch the movie... You will enjoy it....

A surprising and refreshing reflection of the Hong Kong culture

This film is about a young man meeting a very selfish and arrogant girl, who happens to be the girl of his dreams.

Most Hong Kong films are poorly made with silly and pointless humour, and I was expecting "I'll Call You" to be the same. I am only partially right, because "I'll Call You" does have its surprises. It does its bit to reflect the local culture, and the local humour works and makes me laugh quite hard in several scenes. I like the incorporation of animated elements (of the taxi travelling to various places in Hong Kong), as it is not common for a Hong Kong film to be innovative and out of the traditional framework. Towards the end of the film, it gets more existential, exploring deep feelings, inertia and source of happiness. Such themes make "I'll Call You" stand out from the rest of the Hong Kong films. It's a surprising and refreshing reflection of the Hong Kong culture, and I enjoyed watching it.

Marriage with a fool

well this movie was very good. Alex Fog & Stephy Tang did an excellent job to make this movie. It had good movie's aspects. Sadly the ending of the movie was very disappointing. Ah Wah(Alex fog) & Bo(stephy tang) got back together and went on a trip to Japan. After they gone home, they still flirt with the people they were with before they got back together. i just think that was a unfaithful thing to do. Other then that everything else was excellent. I also like the way the director ended the movie. Although i said it was bad, it made you want to know what happens. It made me feel that i wanted to persuade the film producers to make "marriage with a fool 2" to finally conclude and show them how they solved their next problems as couples.

Why the hell do they keep on going?

I simply cant understand why all these relics from the Ceausescu era refuse to let go. One can see clearly how frustrated they were during the commie censorship that forbade them so many things to show in their movies, and now they imagine its dunno what big deal of artsy-fartsy freedom so fill the screen with people defecating, urinating, vomiting, swearing, and any other kinds of hideousness imaginable. THIS IS NOT CINEMA, FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS! This is simply visual perversion. Forget about Bunuels Chien Andalou, about David Lynch, about Forman and neorealism and other movie makers who were able to work with an aesthetics of ugliness. A comedy you will fall in love with!

So taking off for the Santa Cruz Film Festival I had expectations of this movie already. From everything I read and seen about it. I can truly said it blow my expectations right out of the water. There is really no way to tell you how amazing this film was. It's one that you have to see for yourself. Every thing about it was awesome! From the cast to the script and the settings. I laugh and almost got a little teary eyed at one point. And what so cool we go to see it in HD! The characters were written very well. Each one was different in many ways but in some way they all related to reach other, and what's so great is that it's not something you pick up on right away. More toward the ending you start to see what it is. For a movie about friends it didn't come as fake. Like most movies about friends it's so Hollywood (aka superficial). Ten Inch Hero didn't give me that feeling once.

What I like about the movie was that was not 100% predicable. Yes it had it moments when the wheels where spinning in my head and I was able to call it before it happened but it also keep my guessing and took a few turns I never would have guessed. Like Trucker's past. The way they set it up for us to find out was funny, but when it came to open up about it, it was heart warming.

Same thing with Piper, Tish, and Jen road trip they take. That whole part of the movie was wonderful. Three friends on a journey but two for them are there to have the ones back just in case. I don't want to spoil the scene by telling you what happens cause it's just so awesome. When the scene end all I could think was wow that's there is a set of real true friends.

As far as the ending goes, yes it ended happy but not every thing was turned out like you would have thought. For me there are still a few questions open. But to tell you the truth it couldn't have end any better. Not sure I would have been happy if I got everything answered.

OK now on to my rant about Priestly! Oh man I don't think Jensen will ever stop blowing me out of the water with his acting! He so rocks! Priestly is something else. He is smart, funny, sweet, witty, unique and just made you melt. The first time we meet Priestly his entrance it so dynamic and fun you can't help but fall in love with the guy. Yes he looks different them most people with the crazy Mohawks (the multi color one was to die for), piercing and tattoos but his personality is what just grabs you in and you can't let go of it. He makes all kinds of points thru out the movie but does them in such sarcasm that it makes you stop and think about it. The only lines where to go! A few times in the movie where a heart felt scene was taking place it jumped in with his one lines and just made the scene ten time better. Priestly will stand out in my mind forever. He the kind of guy you might just have to look at twice for before you judge him. Also what was so refreshing about the movie that Priestly in no way was like Dean Winchester, Jason Teague, CJ, Alec. Jensen made him his own! I so recommended that if this movie gets pick up that EVERYONE SEE IT! Cause you will enjoy it.

So to wrap this up, all I have to say that the tampon scene will go down in history as one of the best ever! Priestly/Jensen so rocked it like no other.
